Global Rohingya Center (GRC) condemn the Myanmar military crackdown and recent violence against vulnerable Rohingya Muslims in Maungdaw. This violence caused displacement of thousands of Rohingyas, thousands of them fleeing to the neighboring countries as hundreds are brutally killed or burned alive. Women have been subjected to gang rape and torture by the military. Children are thrown alive into the fire in front of their parents. Rohingya have been suffering for more than 70 years in Myanmar amid media blackout. The Myanmar military practices all kinds of inhumane acts; it uses all means for ethnic cleansing against Rohingya. Myanmar breaches all international laws, international humanitarian laws and international criminal laws, which is not new for Myanmar government although it signed to abide by these laws. According to the United Nations; Rohingya are the most persecuted minority in the world. These inhumane acts from Myanmar government against Rohingya Muslim minority triggered anger among Islamic nation and governments like Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh etc. Malaysian Prime Minister himself led a demonstration in Kuala Lumpur showing solidarity with vulnerable Rohingya Muslims in the world, Malaysian dignitaries, leaders of opposition parties and thousands of people joined the rally. The Prime Minister accused the Myanmar government of abusing humanitarian laws and he asked Myanmar government to respect the rule of law and provide security to all minorities. “Enough is enough” he said. Therefore, we in Global Rohingya Center ask the Myanmar government to stop killing innocent Rohingya, ensure security in Rohingya areas, and grant them their basic rights. In addition, we ask the ASEAN, OIC, UN and NGOs to intervene to stop the Myanmar government from acting brutally against Rohingya. Finally, we urge Islamic nations and all mordern countries to demonstrate their anger against Myanmar government as Malaysian government did.
